The 19^th Annual Institute for Social Action was held Saturday, October 6 at St. Theresa Church in Des Moines. The keynote speaker was Bishop Richard E. Pates, Chair of the USCCB Committee on International Justice and Peace. The presentation was entitled, "Threats to World Peace and the Church's Response".  Breakout sessions featured the latest information on the social concerns of the Church.

The public was welcomed and invited to attend. The Iowa Institute for Social Action is sponsored by the Catholic dioceses of Iowa and the Iowa Catholic Conference.
