The Iowa Institute for Social Action (IISA) is a leadership training
event for people of faith residing in the four Catholic dioceses in Iowa. Various speakers and workshops enable attendees
to become better advocates on social justice and peace issues in their local communities as well as throughout the world.
The IISA is an annual two day event that traditionally coincides with the Sunday and Monday in January that
honors the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr. The 2008 event will be on Sunday, January 20th, and Monday, January 21st at St. Francis of Assisi Church in West Des Moines, IA.
The event is
sponsored by the Iowa Catholic Conference, the Archdiocese of Dubuque, and the Dioceses of Davenport, Des Moines and Sioux
City.
